Our Story

In the early 1900s we produced manufacturing equipment and furniture and today, now we design and build London's most iconic workspaces. We're proud of our heritage and while our work has changed, our philosophy remains the same: transforming spaces to innovate, outperform and inspire.

    The business opened in 1911, producing high quality manufacturing equipment and furniture for the thriving textile and clothing sector.
  • 1940

    During WWII a shortage of manufacturing materials forced the business to focus on the supply and recycling of office furniture.
  • 1960

    Emerging from the embers of WWII, the business evolved to compete in the growing electronic equipment market.
  • 1970

    The business opened showrooms in Euston Road and Regent Street and expanded into office design, construction and information technology.
  • 2013

    We rebranded as Oktra – meaning infinite transformation. While our work changed, our philosophy remained the same: transforming spaces to innovate, outperform and inspire.

    Today, we are a community of over 93 workplace specialists. Last year, we transformed the working lives of 17,500 and this year we hope to make that 20,000!

Our Growth and Financials

Oktra has a rich history and a record of sustained growth throughout the last six years despite the turbulent economic conditions. Starting as a small and mighty team of 12 we are now 93. Since Geoff acquired Oktra in 2006, the Group has grown by 4,400% and now turns over more than £135 million per year.
