WeWork Corsham St has been named best WeWork facility in the world by a WeWork London representative.
Approximately 182 miles of cable has been installed in our recent three WeWork projects. That is the length of a drive from London to the Isle of White and back again.
WeWork Corsham Street is our fifth project in collaboration with the global coworking provider. We were given the shell and core of a new building development and in 16 weeks, we completed a full design and build project over two floors.
For the benefit of their members, WeWork required 100 percent certainty that the project would be completed on time and on budget. Trusting our proven design and build methodology, we were able to deliver this. Corsham Street opened to members on the precise hour of our agreed timescale.
Corsham Street is the first WeWork project with direct access to street level as opposed to multi-let building. This meant extra consideration was required for both building security and temperature movement from outside.
Each WeWork project follows the same model. We work with WeWork's design team to drawn up design concepts using history of the local area and their brand identity. With Corsham Street, this WeWork project is located on the fringe of Hoxton, a highly creative and edgy area.
The idea behind WeWork is to create a platform for creatives, an office space but not as we know it. The fit out includes a mixture of communal and glassed-in member spaces surrounded by unique interior design. Formal and informal meeting areas are populated with leather sofas, rugs and quirky throw pillows. Breakout spaces include quirky kitchen facilities with bespoke joinery and feature fittings. Telephone booths and quiet zones provide privacy when needed.
The design capitalises on the buildings central atrium. As you walk into WeWork Corsham Street the feature structure is the billboard clad spiral concreate staircase. When glancing up, the network of exposed building services are arranged to resemble art on the ceiling. A maze of pipes and ductwork are closely coordinated to create a dramatic effect at high level. From New York to San Francisco to Tel Aviv, Amsterdam and London, the brand is distinctively consistent right down to the coffee, craft beer and coolers of cucumber-infused water.
In this fit out and refurbishment project our solution surpassed the usual design and build delivery. Although the timescale of the project was somewhat challenging our experts delivered this project on time and on budget. WeWork are delighted with their new office fit out and we will continue to collaborate with them as they break boundaries in the commercial real estate sector.
