The 13,000 sq ft headquarters, housed in a refurbished Victorian grain mill, will provide an inspiring and inclusive environment for Lucid’s expanding team as the studio continues to shape Liverpool’s thriving gaming industry.
Following a successful collaboration in 2021, Lucid Games turned to Oktra once again to create a space that embodies the studio’s dynamic culture and creative energy. The new office will feature dedicated floors for different teams, energy-efficient LED lighting, and a design that preserves the building’s historic character through exposed brickwork, timber floors, and original architectural features.
“With the growth of the studio over the last 15 years, it’s become important for us to now grow our footprint, but also to remain based within our roots in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle,” said Nick Davies, COO of Lucid Games.
“Working with Oktra has enabled us to design and create a modern, refreshed, and expanded office space that reflects the creativity of our team and matches the ambition of the games that we are currently developing.”
The Baltic Triangle’s distinctive creative energy informed Oktra’s design approach. Known for its street art, independent studios, and repurposed industrial spaces, the district mirrors Lucid’s own innovative spirit. The new workspace will balance heritage and modernity, providing an environment that supports innovation and collaboration.
“Designing Lucid Games’ new workplace meant creating a space worthy of a city fast becoming a gaming powerhouse,” said Andy Burke, Project Director at Oktra. “We wanted the design to inspire, spark creativity, fuel collaboration, and showcase the energy of such an exciting industry.”
Lucid’s expansion marks a significant milestone for Liverpool’s creative economy, strengthening the city’s growing reputation as a UK gaming hub. The new space will open later in 2025.
