Consult and design
International video games company, Square Enix’s move to London’s Bankside has been a central part of the business’ strategy to increase its presence in the UK, Europe and US. Taking two floors at GPE’s 240 Blackfriars, they wanted to create a highly creative, dynamic and efficient work environment. They were no longer reliant on fixed desk working, which reflected the nature of this fast-moving entertainment company and helped to increase productivity.
Manage and build
We were involved very early on in the project, helping to select the building and developing a solution that made the most of the space and could be delivered on a very tight timescale and cost plan. Our team brought to life Square Enix’s view that work is an activity not a place and should support performance rather than presence. Our design pivots around two new concept areas: a ‘Pret Zone’ and ‘live team’ workspace with a range of flexible and fixed desk alternatives focussed around activity-based working.
