One of the main reasons we love designing new workspaces is that it gives people the opportunity to create something truly inspiring; where their staff wake up on Monday morning with a beaming smile; ready to start the working week.
With this in mind, we caught up with Gary Lumsdon, COO at ITRS, to find out what they love most about their new office.
The ITRS Group develops software that helps financial institutions track, monitor and simplify their data into real-time actionable information. After recently rebranding, they moved to the newly renovated Bonhill Building in Shoreditch, the heart of London’s creative tech district.View case study
Hi Gary, what do your teams love about the new office?
“Everyone loves everything, but I think the favourites are the 3 furniture pods. They’re a huge talking point and hit with staff and clients alike, especially loved in the summer. They probably stimulate more conversation than any other item of furniture and are a nice place to linger at the end of an office tour.
They also draw visitors right through the heart of our office which welcomes them to the inner workings of ITRS and I think helps make them feel part of what we’re doing here and for them.”
What kinds of tech do you love in your workplace?
“For our ‘town hall meetings’ and Friday drinks, we use the projector and roll down screen in the break out area – we also crank up the music inside and on the terrace when we want to party – we even got a complaint from a neighbour about the noise levels once, oops – made us feel like teenagers again!”
How have your clients’ responded to the new space?
“They love it and wish they had one just like it. It seems to make them feel part of the family as they want to walk around and they’re so curious about all the spaces we have – which leads to accidental collisions and introductions – spurring all sorts of interesting discussions!”
