    Korea Development Bank were looking to expand and decided to move into the newly refurbished 11th floor at 22 Bishopsgate. The relocation to this iconic building presented the opportunity to reinvigorate their business with a more modern and refined workspace. The office is designed to better suit their work processes and host their clients in a welcoming and impressive space that accurately represents the company and their core values to both staff and visitors.

  • Designed for workflows

    The newly designed office space features floor to ceiling windows which offer sweeping views of the city and maximise access to natural light for employees. The office was space planned to flow seamlessly according to their work processes, with glass walls creating a division between departments without compromising on natural light. The chairman and trading department are sat in the front and centre of the space, visible upon entering the welcome area to showcase the business to visitors. Following the front-of-house area are client meeting rooms overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral that leaves a lasting impression on clients.

  • Optimising workspace

    KDB’s new office space is designed to maximise their floorplate, with desking around the perimeter of the space and collaboration tables in the centre; this area is suited to informal meetings and takes pressure off the larger meeting rooms. We worked with our client to select smaller desk furniture that is better suited to the space, improving on their previous L-shaped desks which weren’t conducive to the way they worked. Focused work areas are supplemented with a light and airy teapoint fitted with flexible, soft furniture to form a comfortable social setting for staff to take time away from their desks.

  • Korean design influence

    Neutral tones and walnut wood elements are employed throughout the space, complemented by stark, black details in the glazing and furniture which results in a refined and traditional workspace that is reminiscent of their Korean offices. Touches of KDB’s blue brand colour are found in the furnishings and statement walls, trying together to a work environment that communicates their company identity whilst retaining an understated, minimalist aesthetic.
