Envisioned
Product Madness, an award-winning developer of social and mobile games, had outgrown their previous office and needed a bigger space to accommodate their future growth plans. The brief centred around Product Madness’ manifesto – passion, creativity, collaboration – and the tagline: ‘come and play in the Madness.’ But the space didn’t just need to look good, it needed to work. In fact, it needed to provide better facilities than any other office so it could help Product Madness attract the best talent in the industry.
Shaped
Product Madness have big plans for their future growth, so our design had to facilitate this. Product Madness work in application teams made up of different departments, so we created individual huddle spaces – each with a unique identity – for each squad. To avoid creating silos, we located the huddle spaces around a central atrium area, encouraging communication and collaboration across departments.
Transformed
The new workspace features: a massage room, sleep pods, barista café, large games room, yoga space, auditorium seating areas and ‘bragging walls’ to showcase Product Madness’ work. There is also a large town hall space with a large AV lounge area, booths, café seating, two-person pods and soft booth seating spaces. Throughout the space, the lighting has been zoned to 24 different areas to support individual work zones and lead people around the space. These outstanding facilities have wellbeing at their core. By providing employees with the spaces they need to work effectively, Product Madness’ new workspace also increases productivity and helps drive growth. That’s the power of place.
