BTG Pactual is an innovative global financial firm and has become the leading Investment Bank in Latin America. This office refurbishment and new office fit out came to fruition when BTG Pactual outgrew their existing space of 10,000 sq ft. Fortunately, BTG were able to lease an additional 15,000 sq ft in Berkeley Square House to accommodate a trading floor, as well as a suite of internal meeting rooms and a large informal staff breakout hub. Our design process was influenced by a number of meetings and workshops with the BTG team. The design was led by BTG’s corporate design standard which has been developed throughout offices worldwide.

Manage and build

Their existing space comprised of poor air conditioning and lack of infrastructure back up, causing interruption to the trading floor. To guarantee seamless trading, delivery included a significant infrastructure resilience installation, including a 350 KVA standby generator with an acoustic enclosure in the basement car park with a 40-metre flue running to roof level. This provides BTG with 72 hours back up of all essential power, lighting and mechanical services over 2 floors. This was the first tenant’s generator ever installed into Berkeley Square House.

The new space

The new space also benefits from the replacement of all existing fresh air grilles with new linear slot diffusers, which were more suitable in the low floor-to-ceiling space. We also relocated and supplemented fan coil units and ductwork in isolated areas. Our team worked tirelessly to complete this highly technical project on schedule whilst maintaining a live trading environment in a notoriously complex building.
