Dominic will be speaking at the Workspace Design Show on the 27th February 2023 which will be held at the Business Design Centre in London. He will be part of the ‘Divine Sparks’ discussion from 11:00 – 11:45 in the Design Lounge.
The panel will be led by Mark Eltringham, Publisher at Workplace Insight and Dominic will be joined by Paula Rowntree, Head of Workplace Design at Lloyd’s Banking Group and Andy Smith, Workplace and Facilities Lead at The John Lewis Partnership. The goal will be to hear the two sides of the ‘being in-person’ debate which seeks to weigh up the value of a return to the office to boost our creativity and spark innovation. The panel will be answering the question:
Are creativity and innovation the same thing? And if not, does the office sector place too much emphasis on the former as an argument in favour of in-person working and not enough on the latter?
There are already many companies who have made their stances clear on how they believe in-person working benefits the creativity of their people. Notable companies that have taken this stance include Disney with their CEO Bob Iger telling staff that “in a creative business like ours, nothing can replace the ability to connect, observe and create with peers that comes from being physically together.”
While more businesses are opting for this strategy, it will be interesting to listen to the panel’s views on this important topic. If you’d like to attend to listen to Dominic’s talk or any of the other inspirational talks lined up for the two days, you can register for free on their website.
