Following the completion of projects in Manchester for financial specialists WEX and a state-of-the-art production facility for Minicam, Oktra has delivered a 28,000 sq ft office fit out for cloud data specialists, Matillion. Oktra were appointed to design Matillion’s offices in Manchester and Denver as the company looks to create and drive innovation in data and AI.
Matillion has taken space in Two New Bailey, which is one of Salford’s fastest-growing commercial developments. Located next to Spinningfields, New Bailey is attracting big-name brands and fast-growing businesses with their impressive mixed-use facilities and modern amenities.
Two New Bailey is a 10-storey, 188,500 sq ft state-of-the-art office development in a prominent position in New Bailey. This high-quality office space is leading the way for the city and carries BREEAM Excellent and Wired Score Platinum ratings. The New Bailey development, let by JLL and Cushman & Wakefield, has achieved market-leading sustainability credentials and is only set to improve its position with the current development of Eden. Eden is expected to be one of the UK’s most environmentally friendly commercial developments and it is anticipated to drive further demand for space in New Bailey.
Our partnership with the cloud-based tech firm began as an inquiry for 35,000 sq ft in Manchester. Following a workplace consultancy programme and space rationalisation workshops, we were able to reduce their requirement by 9,000 sq ft. This allowed us to achieve their requirements as well as save them rental costs.
Matillion’s Manchester office is set across two floors, linked by an internal staircase that was created by cutting through the slab to adjoin both floors. The office also includes a dedicated event space, wellness rooms, a library, and three outdoor terraces. There is a high-spec technology package on this project to ensure seamless connectivity with the Denver office.
