  • Oktra is marking a milestone this month: 30 years of transforming the way people work. What began in 1995 as a small studio has grown into a national design and build business with teams in London, Guildford, Manchester and Birmingham, and a portfolio of workplaces that support some of the UK’s most recognisable brands.

    Over the past three decades, the workplace has changed dramatically. Offices have moved from fixed, desk-heavy layouts to dynamic, human-centred environments shaped around culture, wellbeing and choice.

    Our growth has followed that shift closely, with the business expanding its expertise across design, strategy, delivery and sustainability, helping clients navigate the changing expectations of work with confidence.

    Today, Oktra’s team of more than 200 specialists partner with organisations across sectors including tech, finance, media, education and consumer brands. Work with clients such as Adidas, Gymshark and YouTube shows the breadth of environments the business now delivers – from creative studios to HQs, hybrid hubs and complex refurbishments.

    What has shaped our work consistently is our purpose: designing places that help people feel connected and inspired in their everyday environment. This people-first viewpoint underpins everything from workplace strategy to concept design, project delivery and long-term partnerships.
