After 25 years in its existing Guildford office, the time had come for Baker Tilly to find a new home. They needed a space that would meet the demands of 125 team members and a significant number of visiting clients.

Manage and build
Guildford was our second job for Baker Tilly. We’d previously been brought in to consolidate three London sites, bringing 350 employees to a single four-floor office in Farringdon Street.
During which, we had cut storage and created open plan workspace, as well as clarity rooms for quiet work and urgent deadlines, promoted recycling and introduced PIR lighting. What’s more, we’d created a methodology and design template that could be readily rolled out across the rest of Baker Tilly’s network of offices. When we were later appointed interior design and fit out contractor for Guildford, it was a true confirmation of a happy client and a job well done.

The new space
Guildford is a key office in the southeast for Baker Tilly. Achieving the right balance of sophistication, professionalism, aesthetic appeal and comfort for a firm of accountants and business advisers can be a challenge. Opulence would be inappropriate and frugality might be misinterpreted. We’d set the design and tone template with the Farringdon Street premises and continued this success with the firm’s ethos at Guildford too.
